Checked out conditions

Hiked down to check out the water levels and ice jams.  Nothing major going on, water level is a little bit high.  In the area where the reclamation work was going on all the silt control stakes and sheets where ripped out by the ice.  It was a mistake to leave it in and it just adds to the litter problem.  I'm very disappointed by the level of destruction to both the natural environment and historical features caused by this contractor.  I've also been informed that this is the opus moderandi of this contractor.  A greater due diligence and monitoring needs to be done.
