The week in thaw

Members where out on foot and bikes enjoying the milder temps, nature, birding, and maple syrup.

A warning to club members, as you well know the naturalization work done on the river is not the best.  Avoid the trails made by the contractors, they are mud pits as well as eroding badly.  Also be careful as you kayak the river.  The silt screens they left in the river where pulled out by the ice.  That means there are steel poles further down the river that can impale the unwary.  Also the plastic that they used are adding to the pollution in the river.  As the water levels go down I will try to locate the poles and plastic sheets.

And lastly here is the super moon of March 19 2011
